Sampling and Quantization

What I connect in this unit

Nyquist sampling keeps spectral replicas of a bandlimited signal from overlapping; an insufficient sample rate folds them into aliasing. Quantizing each sample to finite bit depth then adds amplitude error modeled as quantization noise.

Technical anchor

A signal limited to B requires fs > 2B; for an N-bit uniform quantizer, Δ = Vrange/2^N and ideal quantization-error variance is Δ²/12.

How I review it

Compare sampled spectra for fs above and below 2B, then calculate how one extra quantizer bit changes step size and ideal SQNR.
