PCM and Line Coding

What I connect in this unit

A PCM frame packages sampled values into fixed-length words, and line coding turns those bits into a transmit waveform. NRZ is bandwidth-efficient but long runs and DC content hinder clock recovery, whereas Manchester guarantees a mid-bit transition.

Technical anchor

With sample rate fs and N bits per sample, PCM bit rate is Rb = Nfs; Manchester uses a higher transition rate than NRZ and therefore more bandwidth.

Draw 00111100 in unipolar NRZ, polar NRZ, and Manchester, then compare average level, longest transition-free interval, and available clock edges.
