Diode Models and Load Lines

I organize a study path from diodes to single-transistor amplifiers in the order that makes the circuit behavior easiest to revisit.

What I connect in this unit

The ideal diode supplies a switch-level approximation, the constant-voltage model includes a forward drop, and the exponential characteristic describes current variation. Intersecting that curve with the load line locates the operating point.

Technical anchor

For a series resistor, the load line is ID = (VS − VD)/R; its intersection with ID = IS(e^(VD/nVT) − 1) is the quiescent point.

How I review it

For the same VS and R, compare predicted VD and ID from the ideal, 0.7 V constant-drop, and exponential models.
