Re-reading the Transformer Report and Calculators

I revisit magnetic circuits, transformers, and rotating machines around my transformer report and calculation sheets.

What I connect in this unit

When re-reading a transformer calculator, first fix every input definition and the reference winding. Then attach units to each equivalent-circuit intermediate value and verify in the report-calculation comparison that both sides use the same assumptions and rounding, not merely the same final number.

Technical anchor

Recording turns ratio a, referred impedance a^2 Z, and per-unit base Z_base = V_base^2/S_base in order makes base changes and missing units easier to trace.

How I review it

Compare the input table, intermediate calculation, and report row by row; check V, ohm, and W units, then vary one input and confirm that only related outputs move in a physically consistent direction.
