Week 01

Dynamic-System Modeling

I follow the saved course materials and calculations from modeling through stability, root locus, and frequency response.

What I connect in this unit

A mass-spring-damper system and an RLC circuit use different physical quantities, yet both connect an input to an output through differential equations. Choosing force and displacement, or voltage and current, makes the model boundary and required states explicit.

Technical anchor

The mechanical reference is m x'' + c x' + kx = F(t). Comparing its terms with a KVL equation shows how inertia, damping, and restoring elements shape the response.

How I review it

Start from a free-body or circuit diagram, check every term's units and sign, and confirm that the equation preserves the complete causal path from input to output.

Unit 1 of 12. Unit numbers organize the concepts found in the materials and do not reproduce an attendance schedule.
